Golden turmeric root — India's ancient superfood, bringing powerful anti-inflammatory benefits and a warm, earthy colour to our wellness chai.
In Our Chai
Our turmeric comes from Lakadong, Meghalaya — home to India’s highest-curcumin turmeric (7–12% curcumin content vs. the national average of 2–3%). This means every cup of our Turmeric Chai delivers significantly more of the active compound responsible for turmeric’s renowned health benefits.
In our Haldi Chai, turmeric is the star — paired with black pepper to maximise curcumin absorption. The result is a golden, warming cup that tastes like a hug from your grandmother.
You can taste Turmeric in our hand-blended chai range — try it in Ayurvedic CTC Chai and Turmeric CTC Chai. Each blend pairs Turmeric with carefully balanced complementary spices.
Learn more about the science of Turmeric — known botanically as Curcuma longa in the Wikipedia entry on Curcuma longa (Turmeric), which covers its history, botanical classification, and traditional uses.
Lakadong turmeric from Meghalaya contains 7–12% curcumin — the highest natural concentration in the world. Most commercial turmeric has only 2–3%. That's why our Haldi Chai is so intensely golden.
